If you were to take a look at the vast number of illinois photography blog posts, you’d quickly see how there are a lot of different types of photography and photography styles. This can be a bit confusing because there are so many ways to approach photography and it ranges from documentary to street photography to photography in black and white.
This can also be a bit confusing because most photographers tend to be in one of these types, but there are a lot of photographers who are extremely well versed in another and therefore can offer advice when they see an issue. There are many different styles of photography, and some photographers are just better at specific styles. I think there are a lot of photographers out there who are better at street photography (including the one I’m writing this for) and some other photographers who are better at documentary.
I agree that street photography is generally better than documentary, but I think there are photographers who can offer insight into the subject matter that are better at documentary. For example, I think photographers who are better at street photography are also better at documentary. I know I am.
The great thing about documentary photographers, is that they can take a subject and get it into a more human or emotional state. This is often something that you can do with street photography too, but usually with less success because the images aren’t meant to be taken that way. Documentary photographers can take a shot which is then taken by a professional photographer and that has more of a “wow” factor and meaning in it’s own right.
Illicom is a small and relatively new film / photography outfit based out of Chicago. They produce short films, documentaries, and still images. You can read more about them here.
Illicom has been around for about 10 years now, and their new film, “State” is a perfect example of the type of films they produce. The film tells the story of a woman who was born in a small town, raised by her grandmother, and who has to live in a tiny apartment with her elderly mother. The film is based on her mother’s life and the story of her life with her grandmother who has gone missing over 30 years ago.
I think they did an awesome job of keeping the tone of the film appropriate. The story of a woman who has to spend her life with her grandmother and live in a small, tiny apartment with no furniture really doesn’t sound out of place in the modern world. But at the same time, the tone of the film is very much in line with the world of today.
The film is also very much in line with the modern era. Like most of the contemporary fiction being released today, it comes from a very deep well of social and political conflict and is based around the themes of aging, loneliness, and isolation. In general, modern fiction is often about people trying to find a meaning in their life without really knowing what that means. Illinois is a good example of that.
Illness is one of the few things that really doesn’t matter to most people anymore. But while that might have been the case for long ago, most people will never have to actually go through it without feeling a bit sad about it. Illness is a good example of that.
Illness, just like a loss of identity, is a great example of how things can be taken for granted. We have a constant barrage of messages telling us that we’re all on the same path, but really we’re not. Illness is one of those things that we never really want, but can’t escape from, and that’s why it’s so easy for us to feel as if we’re stuck in some sort of loop.
