I get to see a lot of my favorite photographers at the museum. There is nothing better than walking into the gallery where you have watched them in the flesh. Having a personal tour of the gallery is a great way to learn more about a photographer.
There’s a reason that most photography museums have personal tours. As a museum I can’t help but feel a bit of an imposter visiting these places. They are not places for me to see how I think a photographer should be. There are so many things wrong with what I see there, I feel the urge to hide in the shadows and wait for a moment to disappear.

Well, the best way to get a photo of an artist is to look at their work, but that can turn into a huge headache because there are so many incredible photographers out there you can’t name them all.

And when you are thinking about things you would rather not think about, you are actually creating distractions.
You can try to do away with distractions by focusing on your goals, but there are many distractions out there that you will find yourself avoiding when you go to sleep at night. In fact, I find that my thoughts are the biggest distraction. I use to think about my dog; now I am thinking about dog kung fu movies or the latest episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
It seems that it’s the thoughts that create the distractions, and the distractions are created by the thoughts. To get rid of distractions, we need to actually stop using distractions. This means not allowing our mind to control our attention. We need to go from thinking about dog kung fu movies to thinking about dog kung fu movies. This is a real challenge.
