Buying a home can be an exciting but stressful process. It is not just the purchasing of a house, but also the selling of one that needs to be taken care of. This is all about what it was like for me buying and then selling my first home in the Bay Area. There are many lifestyle blog post ideas available. I set out to find the perfect house. I wanted a place that would symbolize my new life, with all of its possibilities and opportunities. This post will tell you everything about how this journey went from start to finish, what it was like finding the right home for me, going through the process of buying it, fixing up some things after moving in. It’s not always easy but when your dream becomes reality it’s worth every moment.

This blog post is just one woman’s story. An intimate journal detailing her journey from renting to owning an amazing modern loft conversion at Silver Lake outside Glasgow City Centre which she went on to sell less than two years later.

I want you to know that it will cover every aspect from finding your perfect property, negotiating on price, getting mortgage approval through settlement day. I’ll also be sharing some thoughts on how much time and effort went into preparing a house for sale from giving it an interior makeover which included installing new flooring throughout most of the ground level apartment; painting, decorating; staging furniture so as to highlight its best features; even landscaping around the perimeter. And don’t forget the bathroom! This post will show you all sides to this life-changing process.

My first home

My first home was in the Bay Area, I had moved there from Vancouver by myself with my dog who I’d adopted years before. It had been hard adjusting at first because everything felt so unfamiliar; like driving on the opposite side of the road for one thing. But after renting for almost two years, we found this perfect house which has turned out to be our forever home now (well… until we decide to buy again!).

Love with Zillow

I found the house on Zillow and fell in love with it immediately, but there were a lot of other people who wanted to buy it too so we had to put together an offer that was competitive enough for us to win out over them. It all went down at lightning speed from start to finish; within one week we got accepted by the seller’s agent and then just ten days later, everything closed! That whole process is something you’ll hear more about in a post below.

The process of selling a home from start to finish

This blog post will also tell you what happened when I sold my own place not long after buying this new amazing loft conversion less than two years later, which I’m so happy about. We’d made some big changes to the place and planned on living there for a long time, but then life had other plans for us. We ended up moving to New York City for work, and that’s where we are now!

This post will cover the whole process of selling a home from start to finish too; starting with how I got my house ready by making some changes including painting it inside and out; installing new flooring throughout most of the ground level apartment, re-landscaping around its perimeter which was really important given all those trees in California (a lot more water is used for irrigation there than back East), redoing the bathroom so it looked amazing.
