Advice from Our Beauty Expert: 8 Tips to Remove Stubborn Makeup

How often do you wear makeup? If you’re like most women, the answer is probably “every day.” One of the downsides to daily use of makeup products is that they can be hard to remove. 

When it comes time to take your makeup off at night, are you left with a mess in your sink and on your face? Well, fret not!

There are many different ways to remove stubborn makeup. In this blog post we will share 8 tips for removing stubborn makeup from our beauty expert.

Tip One:

Makeup remover wipes are one of the easiest and quickest ways to remove stubborn makeup. 

These usually come in a pack that is self-contained, easy to carry around (especially if you’re on the go) and convenient for carrying with your other beauty products when traveling. 

They cleanse skin well without stripping it or drying out the skin.

Tip Two:

You can also use a cleansing balm or oil to remove your makeup. 

These are great for dry skin, but they might be too heavy and greasy if you have an oily complexion. 

They’re usually more expensive than wipes, so it’s worth experimenting with these first before investing in them as a part of your daily routine.

Tip Three:

For stubborn eye makeup that just won’t budge no matter what you try using baby shampoo! 

Shampoo is gentle enough not only on eyes, but also on lashes which means less chance of irritation or stinging sensations when trying to take off mascara laden eyelashes. 

Remember: never rub at irritated eyes (especially after taking off contact lenses) as this can cause eye infections to develop.

Tip Four:

If you’re in a hurry and need something that’s quick, easy and effective right away, try using lip balm! 

It removes makeup from the lips well because it has natural oils mixed into its formula already for moisturizing purposes. 

Give your eyes a break by first removing all traces of lipstick or gloss before moving on to them.

The downside? Lip balms don’t remove waterproof mascara very well because they are designed with different ingredients than those found in removers but if you have dry skin then go ahead and give these products a shot anyway!

Tip Five:

For stubborn nail polish removal, try soaking cotton pads (or q-tips) in nail polish remover and applying them to the nail. 

You can also use a cotton ball if you don’t have q-tips on hand, but make sure it doesn’t contain any lotions or other ingredients that might irritate your skin.

After waiting about 20 minutes for the polish to soak into the pad, just peel off with some gentle tugging and voila! Your nails are now free of old paint jobs.

Tip Six:

If you’re in need of something more heavy duty than makeup wipes or cleansing balms because your makeup is waterproof or pretty much impossible to remove try using oil blotting sheets! 

These little babies will take care of most stubborn products before they can even be seen by your sensitive skin. They leave behind a nice, fresh scent too.

Tip Seven:

If you’re feeling extra ambitious and would like something to really pamper your skin as well (as opposed to just cleaning it of makeup) try using a beauty toner or after makeup remover specifically designed for dry skin types! 

These products will help soothe any irritated areas that might have been exposed while trying to remove stubborn makeup. They also provide nutrients that are not found in most other cleansing options.

Tip Eight:

When all else fails, call it quits and go upstairs for the night with a face full of makeup still intact on your beautiful features! 

You can always take care of these pesky problems tomorrow when you feel refreshed but don’t get too drunk tonight either.
